A New Russian Cryptocurrency MFC: What Is This?

A New Russian Cryptocurrency MFC: What Is This?

MFC is a currency proposed as the internal token of the “Freeland” – a democratic decentralized virtual state. Its goal is to create a society with transparent democracy: where people can create proposals, vote for other people, exchange goods, use smart-contracts … all using their own MFC blockchain.

MFC: An Act of Genius or Pure Madness

The whole concept was created by Russian animation studio Toonbox (which moved to Cyprus in 2015), in partnership with programmer Sergio Barvenkos, legal expert Den Aleinikov, invesotr Paul Cherkashin, and actor Vadim Demchog.

MFCoin is devoted to Mr. Freeman — a cartoon character that represents the main principles of this virtual society. Since its inception in 2009, Freeman has strong influence over smart young Russians, and even Moscow business circles. Besides that, Mr. Freeman’s animated video monologues have a deep philosophical and psychological impact on the viewer.

What’s The Goal?

Project MFCoin is devoted to the Freeland — a virtual decentralized state with the main aim of eliminating corruption and building transparency. There, fans of the Mister Freeman and anyone seeking to join can use modern government services. They have promised to build up this infrastructure within one year (starting from 3Q 2017), which will include:

So … What’s the Catch?

For years, he was just a cartoon. Now Freeman is creating a virtual state. But why? The cartoon promotes the deep idea that freedom is not something you need to buy. Rather, it can be recognized within yourself and exercised. We deal with a few of the counterculture activists standing behind the cartoon.

Back in 2009, Mr. Freeman started a new religion is the darkest corners of the web. His thoughts have dropped onto Russian internet users like a huge intellectual bomb. Check out this Lurkmore page devoted to the hidden messages within Freeman cartoons.

In the wider scheme, Vladimir Putin has recently won elections, again. The majority isn’t interested in internet technology. That’s why the “moral majority” of Russia allowed Pavel Durov, Telegram and vk.com creator, to move outside the country.

Durov’s travel reportedly began after he received a visit from men with weapons looking for Telegram decryption keys. Lurkmore CEO David Homak temporarily moved to Israel in 2015 due to constant armed agents’ attention at his apartment, and their interest in Lurkmore admin access rights.

Some Russian YT bloggers have reportedly had problems from federal agents subtly demanding to edit or delete unnecessary videos. This is not to mention Roskomnadzor banning Bitcoin news sites and independent media like Lurkmore.net for marijuana-related articles, and other scientific research results that don’t match political or religious atmosphere in the country.

The citizens of Freeland are worried and already discussing their own Constitution. If the project succeeds, its citizens will have access to services, people, and possibilities often used by private circles only. The interest from professional business circles from Moscow and Minsk mentioned above gives hope the project wont be thrown into oblivion.

What’s The Difference?

The creators state:

“Freeland is a potential business for every MFC-owner. We are totally aware that the promotion of Freeland idea shall attract loads of attention from the world community. We do not offer any new philosophy, we just claim that it is the right moment to launch an Ideal Democracy and we are ready to create tools for its implementation.”

MFC is a clone of Litecoin and doesn’t claim to be ”the innovative blockchain” — it has nothing new, 90 percent of the classic code is from bitcoin and litecoin. What is really important is the currency appeared in the very heart of the Russian intellectual underground whose members have passionate deals, work hard for years, and achieve results.

Who’s In Charge?

The names might be unfamiliar, so let’s take a look at some of the key players in this project.

Vadim Demchog

Russians love him for brilliant play in ”The Franky Show” on Silver Rain Radio (SRR). He is the voice of Mr. Freeman, a cartoon series that collected more than 92 million views on YT.

Back in 2004, Demchog publishes a gigantic book – Selfliberating Play: The Alchemy of the Artistic Mastery, which is an example of a hard book to read — as if it was written by John R. R. Tolkien or Timothy Francis Leary. However, after many readings one can recognize the book reveals to us Demchog’s personal ”artistic kitchen” — his creative secrets, meditation practices, sources of inspiration, methods of fast and effective learning. The book also contains many valuable warnings to young actors and his thoughts on the future of the theater, cinema, and Game Theory.

Demchog always packs his books in a beautiful 4×4 hardcover.

Pavel Muntyan

Next, we have a team of notable people from the Toonbox animation studio. They have the style and the ability to create straightforward messages with subliminal impact. Studio was founded on 5th March, 2008, by Pavel Muntyan and Alexander Ponomarev.

The studio’s developed projects include:

Denis Aleinikov

Here’s an extensive interview in Russian with Aleinikov published by Bolshoi.by (Belarussian outlet). The title says:

”Denis Aleinikov, Legal expert: ”Cryptocurrency – is a natural bait, which attracts lots of miners to the blockchain space.”

He is a head of Aleinikov & Partners Law Firm (Belarus) and has been in practice since 1999. In 2009, he received the top judicial prize in Belarus: ”Femida,” in nomination for being a ”Rights Advocate’.’
