Devs Set Ethereum 2.0 (ETH) Launch Date for January 3, 2020



(ETH) will launch its 2.0 technological upgrade on January 3, 2020, coinciding with the 11th anniversary of the (BTC) genesis block. But this time, the network will move away from mining, by initiating the much talked about proof-of-stake protocol switch.

Ethereum tried to wean miners off their activity over the years, gradually decreasing the block reward from 5 ETH to 2 ETH per block.
