According to figures on CoinMarketCap, these past 24 hours have seen trading volumes of $112,527,926,530 – a new all-time high, eclipsing even 2017/2018 when the markets hit their all-time high.
The previous 24-hour trading volume record was around $72 billion, and this was achieved on January 4th 2018:
The crypto markets have rebounded strongly in the past few weeks, ever since Bitcoin had a “Golden Cross” event – classified as when the 200 and 50 day moving averages cross, with the 50 day moving above the 200 day. This demonstrated a sustained change of direction for the markets.
Continued good news has buoyed the crypto markets, especially as the traditional markets experience uncertainty amidst trade-wars between the world’s two largest economies, China and the US.
This week has also seen the Consensus New York conference, which has previously been a strong week for the bulls.
